Producing in the Netherlands

The Netherlands offers an excellent environment for foreign creative productions. It provides an original and cost-effective alternative for production companies looking to produce in part or in whole in Europe. The country’s relatively unexplored and unexploited locations, talent pool and resources provide unique opportunities to enhance your production while working with outstanding professionals.

This is a country where productions are still welcomed and where public and private sector alike cooperate on the realization of your project.

Dutch Media Hub

In 2009, the Netherlands officially launched the “Dutch Media Hub”: its new initiative to become the Digital Gateway to Europe. More than forty companies have already signed up to be a part of this effort to combine services and expertise to channel international digital content into Europe. The number of participants continues to grow. The Dutch Media Hub aims to manage all content distribution into Europe, in all formats to all countries, to all outlets (tv, cable, IPTV, theatres, web etc.). The partners offer a wide variety of services from storage to digital rights management, advanced searching technologies and so on.

The Dutch Media Hub is now fully funded and supported by the Dutch Government and its participating companies. In 2010 the Hub started a series of trials and pilots with several of the major film studios.
